Meet Christine | Rockford IL Wedding Photographer
Hi, I’m Christine!
I’m a wedding and portrait photographer based in the Rockford, Illinois area, specializing in weddings, engagements, newborns, maternity, and families.
My love for photography began in 2009 when I got my first DSLR. While Leif and I were living in Taiwan, we went on a date to Jiufen, one of his favorite places. He showed me how to photograph light trails, and I was fascinated by what a camera could create. That experience sparked something in me that eventually grew into a career I truly love.
I began photographing weddings and portraits professionally in 2014. When our first son was born in February 2015, he became the subject of my very first newborn session. Since then, I’ve created a cozy home studio where I photograph newborns and families, and my business has continued to grow right along with our family.
Throughout my photography journey, Leif has always been one of my biggest supporters. He has encouraged me, helped me learn new techniques, and supported me through every stage of building this business. I truly couldn’t have started this dream career without him.
Photography has taught me how meaningful the ordinary moments can become. I love creating natural, joyful, and timeless photographs that allow people to remember not only what a moment looked like, but how it felt.
A little more about me
When I’m not behind the camera, you’ll probably find me spending time with Leif and our two boys, Rollie and Gus. Friday nights are usually movie nights, complete with Leif’s homemade buttery, salty popcorn. We also love camping in our 1985 VW Vanagon, riding bikes to the park or library, getting ice cream, and exploring new places together.
I’m also passionate about yoga and am a Yoga Alliance-certified yoga instructor. I enjoy practicing yoga, breathing techniques, and meditation as ways to support both physical and mental well-being.
I love decorating and organizing our home. You can often find me browsing decorating magazines, Hobby Lobby, HomeGoods, or estate sales looking for unique pieces for our home or photography studio. I especially love mixing textures, colors, and natural materials to create spaces that feel warm and inviting.
Arts and crafts are another favorite in our house. I love creating things on my own and with my boys, especially watching their imaginations come to life through their drawings and wonderfully creative ideas.
Food is another love of mine. I enjoy cooking at home, trying great restaurants and food trucks, and discovering local events. And yes — I almost always take a photo of my food before I eat it!
Travel has also been a big part of my life. I’ve visited Hong Kong, Singapore, Japan, Korea, Bali, Paris, London, and Ireland, along with taking road trips throughout the United States. There are still plenty of places on my bucket list!
Why photography matters to me
The older my children get, the more I realize how quickly each season of life passes.
I’ve learned to appreciate life as it is right now — the big celebrations, the quiet moments, and everything in between. Photographs give us a way to return to those moments years later and remember what that chapter of life truly felt like.
That is what I want to create for the people I photograph.
Whether you’re planning your wedding, welcoming a new baby, celebrating an engagement, or simply wanting to document your family as they are today, I would love to get to know you and help tell your story.
